At BW Events Tech, we believe in creating lasting impacts—not only through the innovative event solutions we provide but also by contributing to the well-being of our communities. This belief comes to life each year through our Holiday Giveback program.
Now in its fourth year, this initiative has become a beloved tradition for our team, offering our team members the opportunity to use company funds to support their local communities- however they so choose. The results? A little bit more love and compassion in the world.
A Program Rooted in Kindness
The Holiday Giveback program began in 2021 as a way for BW Events Tech to channel the spirit of the season into tangible, meaningful acts of service. Employees are encouraged to identify needs in their communities and use the program’s funds to address them—whether through financial support, volunteer work, or donating essential items. With no strict guidelines, the program allows for creativity and personalization, making each act of giving deeply impactful and personal.
In 2024/2025, over 60 team members participated, each contributing to a mosaic of goodwill that spanned continents. From paying off medical debts to supporting disaster relief, here’s a look at the incredible ways our team gave back.
We’d like to share with you how our team helped there communities- as well as offer practical ideas of where to begin if you have an interest in helping your community as well.
WAYS TO HELP
Financial Aid & Debt Relief
For many, financial struggles are a daily reality. Several team members used their funds to ease this burden for others. Darcy, for instance, returned to a local dentist she supported last year and paid off the debts of 10 patients, ensuring they could focus on their health rather than financial stress. Another colleague cleared all outstanding lunch debts at a local elementary school, giving students and their families a fresh start in the new year.
Support for the Unhoused
Homelessness continues to be a pressing issue in many communities, and our team stepped up to provide relief. Claudine, a volunteer with Angels on the Ground in Newark, NJ, used her funds to distribute meals and winter clothing to individuals experiencing homelessness. Another team member supported Esperanza Barcelona in Spain, which organizes weekly walks with unhoused individuals, providing not only meals but also a sense of connection and community.
Children’s Welfare
The joy of giving shone brightly in efforts to support children. In Brazil, one team member helped a family who had adopted four children facing medical and financial hardships. Others donated toys, school supplies, and essential items to organizations like Mission Australia, the Bridge Receiving Center in Seattle, and local foster care programs. One participant even discovered the need for can openers for donated canned goods and purchased an entire store’s supply to ensure families could use the food they received.
Disaster Relief
The aftermath of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina left many without homes or basic resources. Team members partnered with Beloved Asheville to provide critical support to affected communities, offering a lifeline to those rebuilding their lives after the storm.
Animal Welfare
From Arizona to Southern California, our team members extended their compassion to animals. They donated supplies, covered adoption fees, and supported small animal rescues, ensuring that pets in shelters had a chance to find loving homes.
Holiday Cheer
The holiday season is meant to be magical, and our team worked hard to ensure that magic reached those who needed it most. From surprising a struggling waitress with a generous tip to delivering Christmas gifts to families in need, these acts of kindness spread joy and hope during the festive season.
Environmental Efforts
In Ireland, one participant supported reforestation efforts by planting native trees, which will help restore ecosystems and provide long-term benefits to the planet. For every tree planted in Ireland, another was planted in Africa, making this effort doubly impactful.
Conclusion
As we kick off 2025, we carry the lessons and warmth of the Holiday Giveback program with us. CEO Brandon Wernli summed it up perfectly: “This is what I’m most proud of. This is what I want us to be known for.”
We invite everyone to join us in finding ways to give back—big or small, local or global. Generosity has a way of multiplying, and together, we can create a brighter, kinder world.
Whether it’s volunteering at a food bank, donating to a cause you believe in, or simply helping a neighbor in need, there’s no act of kindness too small. Let the stories from our Holiday Giveback program inspire you to look around and ask, “How can I make a difference today?”
Here’s to spreading kindness, one act at a time.
